<p>How can people unsubscribe from SMS?</p>
<p>Twilio will honour all of the standard incoming unsubscribe-style messages that people are used to sending. As per <a href="https://support.twilio.com/hc/en-us/articles/223134027-Twilio-support-for-opt-out-keywords-SMS-STOP-filtering-">these docs</a> for example, if someone were to reply “STOP” or “UNSUBSCRIBE” then the system would honour those preferences, and they will not receive any further SMS from your SupporterBase phone number.</p>
<p>However, this will not automatically mark the person as “unsubscribed” from SMS in the relevant SupporterBase group. For this preference to be recorded on their profile, leaders need to use the “Update contact preferences” function that can be found within SMS threads and on the profile of supporters.</p>
