Domain settings
Admins can find the domain settings for their SupporterBase outgoing emails and blasts by using the left-hand menu to navigate to Settings > Domains.
-
Once you have added a domain, you will be able to see the records you need to set in your domain zone file.
-
After you’ve added those records to your domain you can click the “Check domain verification” button.
-
Once that succeeds and you can see the “Verified badge for all of those CNAME and MX records (e.g. how it appears here (Private), you can then also click the button labelled “Use this domain to process inbound replies”. That will ensure the reply-to address on outgoing emails will use the following subdomain: inbox.[YOUR.DOMAIN].
This is generally the best approach, but requires you to add an MX record at inbox.[YOUR.DOMAIN] pointing to mx.sendgrid.net (clicking that button shows a confirmation dialogue that provides a little extra information). The setting determines the domain used for the reply-to email on outgoing emails. In order to process inbound replies and display them within the SB group’s shared mailbox (visible to admins and leaders), we use a reply-to email that utilises SendGrid’s inbound parse feature (which is what requires the MX record). By default the reply-to email uses a supporterbase.com subdomain (as we set up the necessary MX record for our domain as a default). However, once the MX record is set up at inbox.[YOUR.DOMAIN] you can click that button and the system will instead use a reply-to email at that domain in order to process the inbound replies and display them within the SupporterBase mailbox.
