Managing leaders within SupporterBase

Managing leaders within SupporterBase - admins, captains and vice-captains - is an important part of ensuring your distributed organizing strategy runs smoothly.

In this article, we will show you how to:

  • View admins;
  • Invite new admins;
  • View and edit records for captains and vice-captains;
  • Invite new captains and vice-captains
  • Approve new captains and vice-captains.

View admins

  1. Using the left-hand navigation, navigate to Users > Admins
  2. Once you are on the Users page, you can also see all Admins via the top navigation.
  3. You will then see the full names and email addresses of all admins in your SupporterBase.
  4. You can also select whether those admins should receive email notifications using the checkbox.
  5. Finally, you can also delete those admins, using the red garbage can icon on the right hand side.

Invite new admins

Note: Only existing admins can invite new admins

  1. Using the left-hand navigation, navigate to Users > Invite New Admin.
  2. Once you are on the Users page, you can also Invite New Admin via the top navigation.
  3. Enter the admin’s email address.
  4. They will receive an email invite, prompting them to create an account and log on.

View captains and vice-captains

As an admin:

  1. You can see all captains and vice-captains across all supporter groups by using the left-hand menu to navigate to Users > Captains and Vice-captains.
  2. You will see a list of all captains and vice-captains, including their name, email address, assigned role (captain or vice-captain), and the group (s) they lead.
  3. Within the display for each leader, you also have the ability to edit their details, resend an invitation, make the leader an admin, or remove the user.

You can also see group leaders from within each supporter group profile page, as per the process outlined below for captains and vice-captains.

As a captain or vice-captain:

  1. From your main supporter group page, click the button Group Leaders, at the bottom of your group profile.
  2. You will see a popup list of all leaders, their role (captain of vice-captain) and their email address.

Invite new captains and vice-captains

As an admin:

  1. Using the left hand side menu, navigate to Users > Invite New Captain or Invite New Vice-captain.
  2. You will be prompted to enter the new group leader’s email address, and select the supporter group they should help lead.
  3. Then, click Send Invitation.
  4. The new leader will receive an invitation email prompting them to create an account and login.

As a captain:

  1. From your main supporter group page, click the button Group Leaders, at the bottom of your group profile.
  2. You will see a popup list of all leaders, their role (captain of vice-captain) and their email address.
  3. Click the green Add Group Leader button at the top of the list.
  4. You will be prompted to add the new leader’s email address, and select their proposed role (captain or vice-captain).
  5. Please note that as a captain, your proposal to invite a new leader to the group will still need to be approved by an admin. Your request will be sent automatically to the designated admin, and upon approval the new leader will receive an invitation email, prompting them to create an account and login.

Please note that vice-captains are not able to add new group leaders via SupporterBase.
