Tag filters

Tag filters can be used in a way similar to how tags are used NationBuilder. For example, you may use tag filters to identify which supporters belong to which group, what their key interests are, what core actions they have taken etc.

However, a key point to note is that tag filters in SupporterBase are not necessarily a direct reflection of the tags in your nation (although they can be configured as such if you would like).

Adding new tag filters

  1. Use the left-hand side menu to navigate to Settings > Custom Filters.
  2. Toward the top of the page, you have the option to Create New Tag Filter.
  3. You will be prompted to give the tag filter a name, associate the tag filter with relevant tags (either existing tags you use in NationBuider or new tags), and indicate whether the tag filter should apply to all supporter groups, or just selected groups.

Editing tags filters

  1. Use the left-hand side menu to navigate to Settings > Custom Filters.
  2. Ensure the Tag Filters option is highlighted, rather than the Tag Filter Option.

You can now:

  • Search all tag filters;
  • Activate or deactivate tags using the “Is Active” checkbox;
  • Edit tags using the pencil icon on the right-hand side;
  • Delete any tags using the garbage can icon on the right-hand side;
  • You can also update specific group tags whenever you need via the supporter group edit form.

One thing to note is that the sync process to update group members runs every hour, so that means if some of the group's supporters don't have any of the new tags then those will no longer be listed in the group, and that all happen automatically (albeit on a slight delay given the hourly schedule).
