Rostering

Build a roster of shifts for an event and publish it to volunteers

Rostering is how you organise who's doing what at an event. It all happens on one screen, the Roster & shifts board.

A roster belongs to an event, so create the event first if you haven't. Once you publish, shifts you have opened to self-signup are listed on the event's public sign-up form for volunteers to claim.

The board keeps your work private until you publish it, so you can build and rearrange a whole roster without any of it reaching your volunteers. If you read one thing before you start, make it How draft and publish work on a roster — it's the concept the rest of these guides assume.

Publishing sends emails immediately

Publishing emails every volunteer your changes affect, and there is no undo. Everything before that point is private to you and the other organisers.
